Hello and welcome to Unit 2 of Creation Narrative 1. Our focus for this unit will be God’s unique method of creation. Specifically, we’re going to investigate three main teaching points. First, we’ll consider the fact that it is God alone who creates. So in Session 1, we’ll take a look at some of the Hebrew words used in the creation narrative of Genesis 1 and 2. Second, we’ll consider the reality that creation exists because God sustains it, and therefore, creation is wholly dependent on God. In this session, we’ll look at some more of those Hebrew words of the creation account in Genesis 1 and 2. This session, we’ll also include a discussion about how God relates to his creation. And finally, we’ll engage with the idea that all that God has created was and continues to be inherently good. In this session, we’ll consider one last Hebrew word and the significance of God declaring his creation to be good. Now, as you prepare to spend time investigating these three lessons, pause and consider for just one moment the sheer immensity of all creation and enter into this unit in awe of the awesomeness of God.
