Welcome. In this particular unit, we’re going to be looking at context, one of the most important factors as it relates to interpreting Scripture. A couple of points we’re going to examine are discovering historical contexts. What is taking place in the lives of the individuals that we’re reading about and around them? Not only in the land, but in the people, the culture, the religious structure, political structure, all of those things. We’ll also be examining the literary context. What are the passages before and after? How does this passage fit within the whole of the chapter and with the book and with, of course, the Old and New Testament? Real excited to go through this with you.
