[Begin Transcript] Hi. My name is Steve Grusendorf and I have a few questions for you. Have you ever wondered how God created the universe? Are you curious about the origins of man and how man reflects God in a fallen world? How about the reality of evil? Have you ever wrestled with that little nugget? If so, then I want to invite you to a journey with me as we investigate these and other important topics related to the first two chapters of God’s big story told to us in the Bible. Creation Narrative 1 is the first of two courses designed by Lancaster Bible College to help you understand God’s story and the theology that surrounds it. Designed for learners of all stages, this course combines online and self-directed learning in a way that will have you digging deep into God’s word in order to find answers to some of life’s most challenging questions. And by the way, along the way, you’ll begin to spot the big story God is telling us through the pages of the Bible. So join me today as we begin this journey together. [End Transcript]
Course Description: This course explores the relationship of God to humanity from the vantage point of creation and fall. Attention is given to the nature, character, and work of God (Trinitarianism) in creating and governing the universe, especially in his special relationship to humanity, creatures bearing the image of God (Anthropology). Further attention is given to the issue of sin (Hamartiology).
Student Learning Outcomes: As a result of this course the student will:
- Develop a basic knowledge of the Creation and Fall and related doctrines.
- Interact with the historical development and contemporary expressions of the Creation and Fall
- Reflect on how the doctrines of Creation and Fall impact one’s worldview and ministry.
Course Outline:
Unit 1: The God of Creation
This unit introduces us to the concept of worldview. Biblical worldview will be discussed along with an investigation of the God of the Bible who presents Himself as Trinitarian in nature.
